Job summary

ChristianaCare Springside is hiring a Full-Time CT Scan Technologist I to perform MRI procedures, safety screenings, and quality control within departmental protocols. The role requires ARRT radiologic tech and MRI registrations, state licensure, and CPR/PEEPS, with flexibility to work at multiple sites.

The position offers a daytime shift with occasional weekends and requires independent work and strong patient-service skills. Training in Cerner and IV procedures is included.

Qualifications

• ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
• ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• Completion of formal and/or on-the-job training on cross sectional anatomy.
• An Associate's degree is required; candidates must attain an Associates of Science degree within three years.
• Certification in CPR.
• Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper positioning and transfer of patients.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units and related systems.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research devices prior to scanning.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in licenses and Joint Commission standards.
• Completes all technical and non-imaging procedures within scheduled times.
• Enters accurate patient study information into clinical care systems.
• Assists with coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtains clinical history and consent for examination; verifies insurance pre-authorization.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and uses two patient identifiers.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access and assess patient status.
• Demonstrates knowledge of contrast media injectors; performs i-STAT testing and calculates GFR per policy.

TheChristianaCare Springside location is currently recruiting for a Full-Time CT Scan Technologist I.

Shift

• 7:45am-4:15p.
• Weekends as required. (Approximately every 90 days)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
• Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
• Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
• Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
• Maintains patient confidentially.
• Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
• Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.

• MR Technologist-experience required.
• ARRT Registered Technologist required.
• ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.

• Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
• Ability to work independently.

Education Requirements

• Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
• Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
• An Associate's degree is required; candidates are required to attain an
• Associatesof Sciencedegree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlinedin the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
• Certification in CPR.
• Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

Special Requirements

• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.
• Completion of IV training course.

This position pays $38.13 to $52.43 based on experience. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
