Join to apply for the MRI Technologist I Full-time (Day/Eve) w/ Weekends role at Houston Methodist.

At Houston Methodist West Hospital, the MRI Technologist I is responsible for performing routine diagnostic MRI procedures, including exams of moderate complexity with opportunities to progress to higher complexity. This role provides direct assistance to physicians during MRI procedures, ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to safety and quality standards. The position is part of the direct patient care team.

• Promotes a positive work environment and collaborates effectively with the patient care team.

• Communicates effectively to provide high-quality service during patient and customer interactions.

Service Essential Functions

• Performs various MRI procedures, including special exams, using magnetic resonance technology.
• Assesses patient needs and adjusts procedures to optimize imaging quality and patient comfort.
• Assists physicians during MRI procedures, maintaining sterile techniques.
• Provides clear explanations and instructions to patients and families.

Quality/Safety Essential Functions

• Follows safety standards, maintains sterile techniques, and complies with safety policies.
• Reports near misses and errors, contributing to safety and quality improvements.
• Performs daily quality control on imaging equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Monitors patient reactions and addresses potential issues proactively.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved education program.

Licenses and Certifications (Required)

• ARRT-MR or ARMRIT or CMRT or ARRT-R or ARRT-N or ARRT-SON or RDMS or CNMT, and BLS certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Competent in performing MRI procedures safely and effectively.
• Proficient in English communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital information systems.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to ongoing demands.

Additional Requirements

• Uniform: Scrubs, Other department-approved attire.
• On-call availability.
• Travel within and outside Houston as required.
