Job summary

Santa Rosa Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform routine MRI procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort, and produce high-quality images for physician evaluation.

The role requires ARRT or ARMRIT eligible certification within 12 months of hire, 0–2 years of MRI experience, and BCLS. You will operate MRI equipment, maintain supplies, and work closely with radiologists and the healthcare team to achieve optimal imaging results.

Qualifications

• Graduate must have ARRT certification or ARMRIT eligible and obtain within 12 months of hire.
• 0–2 years of clinical MRI experience required
• BCLS certification required
• Knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging techniques

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols; ensures high-quality diagnostic images.
• Reviews patient questionnaires and histories to identify contraindications before scans.
• Operates MRI and processing equipment per safety guidelines.
• Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Maintains MRI safety zones and verifies patient and staff readiness before entering scan areas.
• Documents clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review.
• Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring sterility as required.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team to optimize imaging results and patient outcomes.
• Monitors MRI equipment functionality and reports issues promptly.
• Provides patient support during and after exams and ensures clear post-procedure instructions.
