Job summary

Geisinger seeks an MRI Technologist I in Danville, PA. You will perform MRI procedures, ensure patient safety, and assist licensed practitioners in interventional and diagnostic imaging.

New graduates must obtain ARRT/ARMRIT certifications prior to start, with advancement opportunities to level 2 based on performance. Responsibilities include enforcing ALARA, medication administration when needed, and educating students.

Qualifications

• ARRT, NMTCB, and ARMRIT certifications required at hire.
• New graduates must obtain ARRT-R or ARRT-MR or NMTCB/ARMRIT prior to first day.
• Advancement to level 2 with advanced certification within 24 months for applicants hired after Mar 10, 2024.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient identification, preparation, and proper documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
• Apply appropriate MRI protocols and ALARA principles to optimize safety and care.
• Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate image quality and manage data transfer/archiving.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risk.
• Assist licensed practitioner in MRI procedures.
• Perform MRI procedures as prescribed.
