Job description

Overview

As an MRI Technologist I, you will coordinate and perform all tasks required to acquire high-quality magnetic resonance images. You will also enhance your educational and technological skills related to current technology and future advancements in MRI.

Schedule

Full Time, Evening Shift

3:00PM-11:30PM

Rotating Weekends

Qualifications

Education:

• Previous MRI relevant physics coursework preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

• ARRT registered in Radiography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or registry eligible. If not specified otherwise, the maximum time to practice in a "registration pending" status is three months.
• If not ARRT registered in MRI, must obtain ARRT MRI registration within 24 months of employment.
• Maintain BLS CPR Certification.

Experience:

• Three (3) years of experience as a technologist with documented skill development preferred.
• Operational background and/or experience with microcomputers preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and guest relations skills required.
• Adaptability to ongoing technological changes.

Responsibilities

1. Perform various MRI procedures on outpatients of all ages, following established standards, policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
2. Perform MRI procedures on inpatients (General, IMC, and ICU) of all ages, following established standards, policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
3. Perform Neuro-specific MRI procedures to support the Comprehensive Stroke Program.
4. Stay current with departmental protocol updates.
5. Maintain excellent guest relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
6. Provide emergency and routine patient care as needed.
7. Administer agents/pharmaceuticals under radiologist supervision.
8. Follow infection control practices per departmental manual.
9. Monitor equipment and supply conditions; report issues; recommend purchases.
10. Ensure accurate recording and transmission of patient information.
11. Ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
12. Participate in flexible work hours, including overtime and MRI call duties.
13. Maintain current credentials as required by MMC.
14. Engage in continuing education, completing at least 12 CE hours annually in MRI.
15. Stay informed about current trends and developments in MRI technology.
16. Assist in training radiography students.
17. Perform other related duties as needed.
