Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation is seeking an MRI Technologist to join ColumbiaDoctors. The role performs MRI imaging, contrast administration, and image archiving while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

You will collaborate with radiologists and staff across multiple sites, handling clerical tasks and maintaining equipment quality. The ideal candidate has at least two years of MRI experience, NYS licensure, and ARRT registry eligibility, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• NYS License required.
• ARRT MRI Registry eligible.
• New York BLS certified.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
• Able to work independently and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors and staff.
• Perform MRIs and general radiological procedures.
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information.
• Consult radiologist on questionable orders and position patient for best imaging.
• Observe patient in MRI area and respond to changes in status.
• Assess diagnostic quality of finished images before radiologist interpretation.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Administer contrast media via IV as directed.
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment and maintain logs.
• Perform clerical duties related to image acquisition and archiving.
• Cover multiple sites and flexible scheduling including weekends.

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist will work in a collaborative environment to provide superior patient care The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition processing submission for interpretation and archiving of MRI images and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the MRI area

Job Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients visitors vendors and all faculty and staff
• Perform MRIs and general radiological procedures
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided
• Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and at the radiologists discretion the referring physicianPosition patient and select appropriate options to ensure best case imaging based on accepted MRI standard of practice and institutional imaging protocols
• Observe patient while in the MRI area for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction
• Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation
• Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate
• Administer contrast media via appropriate peripheral IV access as directed
• Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data schedule PM perform QA maintain records required for and participate in inspections
• Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition processing and archiving of patient records
• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience
• NYS License
• ARRT certified MRI Registry eligible
• New York BLS certified
• Must have excellent communication skills interpersonal skills and a strong ability to deescalate stressful situations
• Candidate must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail flexibility adaption to change and ability to work independently
• Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures
• Basic proficiency in computer skills including but not limited to Electronic Health Systems Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word email systems etc
• Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices as needed multiple sites and flexible schedule including weekends
• State license to inject contrast preferred

Hourly Rate Ranges

5566 6868 Note Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience skill set training and education
