SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE - UP TO $25K

Job Title: MRI Tech-Hosp

Unit: MRI

Shift: Full time - Evenings (2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.)

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital-South

Position Summary

Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of his/her duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on-call responsibilities.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

Additional requirements:

§ Type of degree: Allied Health

§ Area of study or major: Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire

Licensure/Certification/Registration

§ ODH licensure preferred

§ ARRT RT (R) registry or ARMRIT registry required

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Preferred experience: One year MRI experience preferred

Working Conditions:

  1. Works in a strong magnetic field
  2. Must not have any contraindications to MRI environment
  3. Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  4. May be exposed to loud noises
  5. May be exposed to aggressive, violent behaviors from patients, family members, and/or visitors
  6. May be exposed to blood and body fluids, including those with tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, or body infestations
  7. Must be able to work under stressful conditions which may occur in emergency situations or with a heavy workload
