Job summary

Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital is seeking skilled radiologic technologists to join our imaging team. You will perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures, with emphasis on MRI safety and high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art setting.

The role requires ARRT certification (radiography) or ARDMS/NMTCB/ARMRIT certifications, BLS, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and professional development. You may supervise students and assist in quality control and daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Valid ARRT certification in radiologic technology or ARDMS certification, NMTCB, or ARMRIT certification.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Adheres to MRI safety principles for patients, staff and self.
  • Positions patient, equipment and devices to obtain high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Provides patient transport as needed.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilizes corporate radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.

A Brief Overview

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to MRI safety principles

Responsibilities
What you will do
  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Baptist Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Applies principles of MRI safety to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas.
  • May be required to work at any facility.
  • Provides patient transport.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology or;
  • Graduate of accredited school of Sonography or;
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine or;
  • Graduate of an approved MRI technologist program through American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • None.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or,
  • Valid American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or,
  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification or,
  • Valid American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
