Position: MRI Technologist - Duke University Hospital

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 4/10 hour shifts, 1pm-11:30pm

Responsibilities and Skills

• Perform complex procedures involving high field strength magnets and related equipment
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures
• Assist radiologists with protocoling and performing procedures
• Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed
• Evaluate MR scans for quality, process images, and label appropriately
• Manage scheduling, patient flow, and clerical functions
• Charge procedures and supplies in the health system's electronic records
• Operate power injectors for contrast media
• Provide orientation and training for new technologists and students
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during MRI procedures
• Understand and utilize the Image Archival System
• Assist in developing new protocols and imaging techniques
• Support research activities within Duke Health System
• Demonstrate proficiency in over 100 MR protocols and teach their application
