Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist seeks an MRI Technologist – Device Navigators to ensure patient safety during MRI exams involving implanted devices. This role includes managing MRI protocols, investigating devices, and working closely with scanning technologists to maintain an efficient workflow. Candidates should have a strong background in Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification, and at least five years of MRI experience.
MRI Technologist – Device Navigators serve as the primary resource for investigating, researching, and approving MRI exams for patients with implanted devices (pacemakers, spine stimulators, etc.). These Technologists, working with the MRMD (MRI Medical Director) and Electrophysiology service line (within Cardiology), ensure that patients can be scanned safely in the MRI setting while communicating clinically relevant information to the scanning technologists prior to patients being placed on an MRI schedule
Major Responsibilities
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Certificate, associate degree program
Certification / Registration / License
ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine (including NMTCB) with advanced ARRT or ARMRIT certification in MRI. MRSO (Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer) required. If not MRSO certified upon hiring, candidates will be given one year to obtain certification.
Work Experience
Five years of experience in MRI with demonstrated skillset in the gamut of MRI exams
Experience and knowledge of implanted device management in the MRI setting must be demonstrated.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Certificate, bachelor’s degree program
