Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations across all ages using 3T, mobile, and upright scanners. Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • 0 to 2 years of modality-specific work experience; 1 year X-Ray experience preferred.
  • ARRT (R) registration is required.
  • ARMRIT registration required within 1 year if not already.
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
  • Utilize MRI resources, protocols, and technology to ensure accurate imaging services.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients about MRI procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and infection control practices.
  • Monitor patients during examinations and respond to needs.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation per departmental/regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other staff for patient care.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and QC of MRI equipment and work areas.

$10,000 sign-on bonus + up to $5,000 relocation assistance available Full Time - Days (Mon-Thurs, 12:30PM-9:00PM, Fri 9:30AM-6:00PM) As an MRI Technologist at MUSC, you will be at the forefront of medical imaging, utilizing advanced MRI technology including 3T, mobile, and upright MRI scanners. At MUSC our MRI technologists have access to dedicated protocol support and system MRSO support every day. Working in a collaborative and patient centric environment, they play a critical role in the delivery of exceptional healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation.
  • Utilize all available MRI resources, protocols, and technology to ensure accurate and timely imaging services.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding MRI procedures to promote patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Adhere to established safety standards, infection control practices, and MRI-specific protocols.
  • Monitor patients throughout examinations and respond appropriately to patient needs and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and quality control of MRI equipment and work areas.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental operations., and organizational policies and procedures.
Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience, at least 1 year of X-Ray experience preferred.

Required Registration/Certification

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.

Must be registered with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT), if not registered must be obtained within 1 year in this position.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with one hand.
