Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform scans per protocol, archive exams, and support patient care. The role requires adaptability across 1.5T and 3T MRI environments, including operating rooms, with the ability to start IVs and monitor patients using multiple systems.

The candidate must hold MRI Technologist Certification (ARMRIT or ARRT MR) and maintain an active credential such as the RQI eCredential, obtained within 30 days of hire, with a commitment to safety

Qualifications

This position performs duties associated with Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Scans patients according to protocols and parameters with knowledge of troubleshooting MRI systems.
  • Archives patient exams.
  • Confidently starts IV's.
  • Adapts to different MRI environments (1.5T MRI machines, 3T MRI machines, and MRI machines) in the operating rooms.
  • Functions in different patient monitoring systems throughout the organization.
  • Follows MRI safety guidelines according to organization policy.

Qualifications
Licenses Required
  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following
    • MRI Technologist Certification from the American Registry for Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
    • ARRT Registration as Magnetic Resonance Imaging R.T. (MR) (ARRT).

* Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Three (3) years of technical MRI experience.
