Job summary

University of Utah Health Hospital in Salt Lake City seeks a patient-focused MRI Technologist to perform scans, administer contrast as permitted, and support high-quality patient care.

The role requires ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification (or eligible) and an RQI credential within 30 days; preferred three years of MRI experience. On-site work, shift evenings.

Qualifications

• ARRT Registration as MR or ARMRIT certification (or eligible).
• RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in MRI environments.

Responsibilities

• Scans patients according to protocols with MRI system troubleshooting.
• Archives patient exams and maintains accurate records.
• Starts IVs and administers medications within scope of practice.
• Adapts to 1.5T and 3T MRI environments, including operating rooms.
• Follows MRI safety guidelines and maintains patient monitoring.

This position performs duties associated with Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Scans patients according to protocols and parameters with knowledge of troubleshooting MRI systems.
• Archives patient exams.
• Confidently starts IV's.
• Adapts to different MRI environments (1.5T MRI machines, 3T MRI machines, and MRI machines) in the operating rooms.
• Functions in different patient monitoring systems throughout the organization.
• Follows MRI safety guidelines according to organization policy.

Qualifications

Licenses Required

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• One of the following
  • ARRT Registration as Magnetic Resonance Imaging R.T. (MR) (ARRT).
  • MRI Technologist Certification from the American Registry for Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).

* Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Preferred

• Three (3) years of technical MRI experience.
