Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. in Louisiana is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures with supervision as needed and ensure patient safety.

You will operate MRI equipment, inject contrast if required, and coordinate with physicians and staff to deliver high-quality imaging.   • Two years of Radiologic Technology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI procedures per orders and administer contrast if applicable.
  • Evaluate image quality and label sequences; transmit to PACS.
  • Use EHR to charge procedures and maintain patient records; schedule patients.
  • Load and operate power injections for contrast media.
  • Provide orientation and training to MRI technologists.
  • Care for patients' psychological and physical needs during MRI.
  • Cross‑assist in other areas as needed.

Job description

Summary

Performs MRIprocedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technicaldetail. Operates equipment safely while performing all types of procedures.Ensures magnetic safety at all times. Establishes and maintains a good rapportand professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, andmedical staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures as per physician, NP, orPA order, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
  • Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality,collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Image/transmitto PACS.
  • Utilizes EHR to charge procedures and supplies;maintains accurate patient records. Schedule patients for procedures; assistwith clerical functions.
  • Perform necessary lab as ordered.
  • Load and operate power injections for contrastmedia administration.
  • Provide orientation and training to new MRItechnologists.
  • Provide care for the psychological and physicalneeds of patients for MRI scans.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to thework therein.
  • Cross assist in other areas as needed and asdirected.

Advanced Orthopedic and SpineCertification Requirements

(CR.1c) As part of the AdvancedOrthopedic and Spine Certification, at a minimum, the Program direct-carestaff, must have one (1) hour of education specific to the Program scope,initially, and at least annually thereafter.

(CR.1e) As part of the AdvancedOrth orthopedic and Spine Certification, staff possess adaptability to processes asrelated to up to date best practices, collaboration between departments,compliance with protocols/processes, communication, cooperation and exceptionalcustomer service.

Within 90 days of hire or, ifcurrently employed, within 90 days of signing the job description, must adhereto:

  • Orientation of Advanced Orthopedic and SpineCertification
  • In compliance with the Program educationrequirements
  • Completed department specific competencies
Regulatory Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologictechnologists program
  • Current ARRT
  • Current Louisiana State License LRT
  • Certified MRI Technologist or ability to passMRI registry within time specified
  • Current BLS certification or able to obtainwithin 30 days of hire
  • Two years of Radiologic Technology experiencepreferred
Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English,both verbally and in writing.
  • Basiccomputer knowledge.
Physical Demands
