Application Tips for MRI Technologist Candidates

To strengthen your candidacy in the hospitals and health care industry, consider these targeted strategies:

  • Showcase your scan portfolio: Highlight specific MRI sequences you're proficient in — such as brain, spine, musculoskeletal, and abdominal imaging — on your resume and during interviews.
  • Emphasize magnet safety knowledge: Be prepared to discuss zone-based safety protocols, screening procedures for metallic implants, and contraindication management.
  • Reference ARRT continuing education: Mention any additional CE credits or advanced certifications you've pursued beyond baseline requirements, demonstrating commitment to staying current in a rapidly evolving imaging field.
  • Highlight EMR and PACS experience: Familiarity with picture archiving systems and RIS platforms is highly valued. Be specific about which systems you've used.
  • Leverage professional networks: Beyond LinkedIn, consider engaging with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) community, where similar roles are frequently posted and discussed.
