Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks an MRI technologist to operate specialized MRI equipment and produce clinical diagnostic images, under physician direction. You will perform MRI studies, prepare equipment, and ensure patient safety according to established standards.

You will also position patients, educate them about procedures, review safety questionnaires, and ensure images are labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
• ARRT MRI registry.
• BCLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI imaging procedures.
• Applies technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality.
• Operates and prepares equipment for MRI procedures.
• Positions patients and coils to obtain optimum study.
• Educates patients about procedures and instructions.
• Reviews safety questionnaires before entering the scan room.
• Labels MRI images as required by SOP.
• Evaluates image quality and transmits to PACS promptly.
• Documents studies in IDX.
• Maintains radiology room cleanliness and supplies.
• Accounts for patient tracking information in IDX.
• Schedules exams in IDX.
• Reports equipment issues to supervisor.
• Assists physicians as needed.
• Supports infection control and safety policies.
• Attends training and maintains licensure.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
