Job description

UPMC offers a $15,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment for new hires.

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

This is a weekend position working from Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday. Rotates through the 3 Harrisburg Hospitals.

Responsibilities:
  1. Performs all job responsibilities of Level I MRI Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
  2. Demonstrates complete operation of specialty equipment, analyzes data promptly, and completes quality control activities.
  3. Promptly responds to medical editing requests.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  5. Assist with the training of staff and students.
  6. Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  7. Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  8. Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
