Job summary

AMI is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist to support its outpatient radiology practice in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The position entails operating MR scanners, ensuring patient safety, and coordinating with radiologists for proper imaging protocols.

The role requires ARRT/ARMRIT certification, accredited MRI program completion, and BLS. Benefits include comprehensive medical packages and retirement plans. Schedule includes varied shifts across Egg Harbor Township and Somers Point offices.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited MRI program and be registered in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT.
• Current and valid BLS certification required prior to start.
• Venipuncture experience preferred for contrast administration; willing to obtain if not trained.

Responsibilities

• Operate all aspects of the MR scanning unit and transfer images for interpretation.
• Assess patient safety in the magnetic field and ensure proper scanning protocols.
• Consult with Radiologist and implement scanning protocols as directed.
• Maintain daily work schedule and document in Zotec and required forms.
• Monitor patient flow and accommodate unscheduled patients and add-on studies.
• Perform quality control testing, equipment calibrations, and proper start-up/shut-down procedures.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient Radiology practice!

Generous Shift Differential of $15.00 per hour applies after 8pm!

The MRI Technologist is responsible for, but not limited to:

• Operating all aspects of MR scanning unit, incorporating extensive knowledge of system’s computer and all program modalities to perform scanning procedures and transfer images to film or software for interpretation;
• Evaluating screening to ensure patient safety in the magnetic field;
• Consulting with the Radiologist and implementing proper scanning protocols as directed;
• Completing daily work schedule, documenting in Zotec and on any required forms;
• Monitoring patient flow and accommodating unscheduled patients and add-on studies;
• As per office policy, performing all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up and shut down procedures with proper documentation;
• Advising the Chief Technologist/Office Administrator of the need for all maintenance, service and repair work;
• Participating in office meetings, in-service programs, continuing education programs and other designated activity;
• Responding to office codes, policies and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor and physical plant safety and security;
• Demonstrating competency in dealing with patients in all age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric; and
• Performing all other duties as required and assigned.

This full time, 40 hour per week position will provide coverage in the AMI offices in Egg Harbor Township and Somers Point. Coverage will be assigned in Cape May Court House when needed.

The work schedule includes:

• Monday, 12:30pm-11pm, Egg Harbor Township - Generous shift differential applies!
• Tuesday Off
• Wednesday, 6:30am-5pm, Somers Point
• Thursday, 7:30am-6pm, Somers Point
• Friday, 6:30am-5pm, Egg Harbor Township

Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

Qualifications:

• Candidates for this position must be a graduate of an accredited MRI program and are registered in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or ARMRIT.
• Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment.
• Previous experience or certification in venipuncture preferred for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently trained/certified, must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided.
• Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written, are necessary for success in this position.
• Candidates must demonstrate a patient-focused and team-centered approach to the role, along with a commitment to the entire patient experience.
