Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform routine MRI exams across ages and conditions, ensuring comfort, safety and clear communication throughout the process.

The role emphasizes patient education, adherence to protocols, daily QA, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. A strong ARRT/MR credential and BLS are required, with MR certification within one year of hire and experience with RIS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per ARRT pathways.
• Registered Technologist in MRI with ARMRIT/ARRT in good standing or ARRT R.T.(N) or CNMT as applicable.
• MR Imaging certification (R.T.(MR)) required within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathology.

Responsibilities

• Review patient questionnaire, chart and data to determine contraindications for MRI.
• Perform MRI procedures per protocol and conduct daily QA.
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Report malfunctions and monitor equipment uptime; call for service as needed.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
• Attend in-service programs and professional sessions.
