Job summary

Medix seeks a dependable MRI Technologist to join our outpatient imaging team. You will perform MRI exams with high-quality imaging while ensuring patient comfort and safety in a low-acuity setting.

The role features a predictable 4-day schedule with no night shifts, weekends, or on-call requirements, plus travel and local pay options; EPIC EHR is used for documentation and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Active ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR) registrations required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations (~12 scans/day per magnet) following physician orders, established protocols, and safety standards across low-acuity outpatient populations.
• Operate Siemens Magnetom and/or Hitachi Oasis 1.2 Open MRI systems to produce diagnostic-quality images with minimal artifacts.
• Enforce strict MRI safety zone protocols, screen patients and personnel, and independently verify implant/device compatibility prior to imaging.
• Deliver compassionate care by verifying patient history, providing clear exam instructions, managing anxiety or claustrophobia, and administering contrast media when required.
• Utilize EPIC EHR to log patient records, track orders, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, ACR, and ARRT standards.

Position Type: Full-Time / 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused ARRT Registered MRI Technologist to join our outpatient imaging team. Operating in a low-acuity, family-like clinical environment, you will deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging while providing exceptional, compassionate care to our patients.

This role offers a predictable schedule with zero night shifts, weekend work, holidays, or on-call requirements, allowing for an ideal work-life balance.

Compensation & Pay Options

• Travel Travelers: Up to $3,200.00 / week gross (includes $1,575.00/week in tax-free housing and meal stipends for eligible travelers)
• Local Technologists: Up to $3,000.00 / week gross ($75.00 / hour)

Key Responsibilities

Education & Certifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT Certification: Active ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR) registrations required. (Note: ARMRIT alone is not accepted).
• Life Support: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience & Skills

• Required Experience: Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience as an MRI Technologist.
• Preferred Equipment Experience: Prior operational experience with Siemens Magnetom or Hitachi Oasis MRI equipment is strongly preferred.
• EHR Proficiency: Experience using EPIC for clinical documentation and scheduling.
• Soft Skills: Strong independent decision-making skills, excellent bedside manner, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Work-Life Balance: 4-day workweek with every Tuesday, weekend, and major holiday off. Hard stop at 6:00 PM daily.
• Patient Population: Low-acuity outpatient adult population (ages 13+ for contrast exams; no pediatric imaging).
• Attire: Flexible dress code—wear any color or style of scrubs with comfortable sneakers or medical shoes (no competitor/hospital branding).
