Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and produce diagnostic images with a patient-centered approach. You will explain procedures, position patients, and ensure safety across imaging protocols while maintaining accurate RIS records.

The role is part-time, with shifting hours including every other Friday and weekend evenings. ARRT/ARMRIT and AMA radiography training are required, along with state licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images for physicians.
  • Screen patients before exams and verify identifiers for accuracy.
  • Explain procedures and position patients for appropriate imaging.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust scan parameters and follow physician orders and safety rules.
  • Maintain RIS records and ensure equipment cleanliness and safety.
  • Keep imaging equipment in good working order and comply with accreditation requirements.
  • Support MRI department by updating imaging protocols and monitoring supplies.
  • Assist in training new team members and share technical expertise.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a MRI Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.


This is a part-time role working every other Friday 12:30 PM-10:30 PM and every other Saturday and Sunday 2:30PM-10:30PM.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure

  • Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned

  • Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure

  • Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed

  • Follows physicians’ orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)

  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members

  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use

  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements


(5%) MRI Department Support


  • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades

  • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary

  • Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable


(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

The pay range for this position is $32.00- $52.00 based on direct and relevant experience.

Requirements

Required:



  • High School diploma, or equivalent

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography

  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need

  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

  • Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently

  • Certification in imaging specialty
