Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform MRI procedures with emphasis on safety and image quality. This role requires independent judgment, adherence to protocols, and accurate documentation in the RIS and ISITE systems.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with a $20,000 sign-on bonus and a 2-year commitment; no on-call, no weekends, rotating holidays. Must maintain MR safety and patient care standards in a collaborative department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent CNMT/ARMRIT/ARDMS track.
• ARRT registry eligibility must obtain within 6 months; MR registry within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain MR safety in the department.
• Maintain clinical competencies for exams/equipment.
• Perform procedures, review processing and archiving.
• Read and present information to physician prior to exam.
• Identify patients with two identifiers; follow universal protocol; document in EMR.
• Demonstrate strong patient and coworker interaction with care and respect.
• Explain procedures to patients to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.
• Ensure exams are coded and billed correctly in RIS and ISITE.
