Job description


FlexStaff is seeking an MRI Technologist, Level III to work for one of our external clients, a city health system, located in Brooklyn, NY.


This is 13-weeks contract job. Schedule: 11:00pm-7:00am


Requirements:



  • Minimum formal education of Associate Degree or certification equivalent and a minimum of 1 year job-related experience.

  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic training in an AMA approved.

  • New York State License Radiologist Technology ARRT.


In this role you would be performing MRI and Radiographic procedures.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:



  • Perform MRI scans and ensure image quality before patient release.

  • Position and transfer patients, providing immobilization devices as needed.

  • Select appropriate technical factors and imaging parameters for each patient.

  • Consult with physicians to determine testing procedures based on established protocols.

  • Assist in preparing and administering contrast material.

  • Develop images using automatic processing.

  • Follow sterile techniques and infection control policies.

  • Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department when necessary.

  • Provide radiation protection as per safety standards.

  • Manage assigned areas during routine MRI procedures.

  • Prepare necessary materials and equipment for procedures as directed.

  • Review images for quality, making necessary adjustments.

  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure understanding.

  • Treat patients and staff courteously while respecting quality care standards.

  • Maintain accurate records and complete patient registration and phone inquiries.

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of MRI and Radiology rooms.

  • Manage inventory and secure necessary supplies.

  • Collaborate with department personnel effectively.

  • Maintain and recommend service for diagnostic MRI equipment.

  • Attend continuing education and in-service training to meet licensure requirements.

  • Perform radiographic procedures as needed in various settings.

  • Supervise and instruct assigned MRI and radiography students.
