Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking an MRI Technologist for per diem openings at Winchester Hospital locations in Massachusetts. The role supports patient safety and delivers high-quality diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications (ARMRIT accepted in some locations) and prior MRI experience; expect computer data entry and occasional call rotation; compensation ranges $40-$60 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior MRI scanning experience.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications; ARMRIT accepted at some locations.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
• Able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• May participate in call rotation at some locations.
• Ability to push, pull and lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Inform patients about their exam to their level of understanding.
• Position patients accurately and maintain comfort during the exam.
• Maintain contact with the patient throughout the exam and perform scans per protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast when required and complete exam documentation.
• Forward data/films to Radiologist and assist with clerical tasks.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms; adhere to credentialing requirements.

This is a per diem opening for our locations at Winchester Hospital & Winchester Hospital - Unicorn Park campus.

What You Will Do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.
• Contrast administration

What You Need

• This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.
• Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills. ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties
• Some inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotation
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
• Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
