Job summary

Southcoast Health in Wareham, MA invites an MRI Technologist to join Tobey Hospital’s Radiology team for a patient‑centered MR program. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality imaging with strict safety and ALARA adherence, in an evening shift completing a 40‑hour workweek.

New hires may receive a $20,000 sign‑on bonus; rehires within the last year are eligible. ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT credentials, BLS, and vaccination are required; reporting to the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• Post-primary certification from ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT or equivalent in MR imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform diversified clinical patient care within radiography and MR as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Assess patients, correlate findings with exam requests, and document in the EHR.
• Educate patients for exams and position patients with appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
• Select technical factors/parameters/sequences to produce quality images.
• Apply MR safety principles to minimize risk and adhere to ALARA.

*$20,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Evening shift, Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: Tobey Hospital - Wareham, MA

Position reports to the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee. Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within radiography and MR as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient*s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of MR safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others and aware of the principles of ALARA. Assist physicians in performing procedures.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Radiation Therapy and attainment of post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) - OR - the successful completion of an accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and attainment of primary certification from the ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Registration with the ARRT, ARMRIT or CAMRT is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
