Job summary

6 Degrees Search seeks an MRI Technologist for an on-site, full-time role in Ithaca, NY. The position involves performing MR exams, ensuring patient safety, documenting patient history and procedures, and supporting the radiology team.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences, ARRT MRI certification, and NYS licensure with injection endorsement by the end of the introductory period. Prior two years of experience preferred but new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Completes all MRI exam steps including patient history, tech and contrast information, and IV data entry.
• Follow MRI safety policies for staff and patients.
• Label syringes with date, time, contrast, and initials; follow ISTAT protocols as applicable.
• Set acquisition factors to optimize image quality and evaluate images according to physician instructions.
• Monitor stock levels and enter supply orders in the system.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Completes all steps involved with the exams including Documentation of Patient History, Tech Info, Contrast Info, and IV Injection info. And scanning paperwork packs into the system.
• Follow all MRI safety policies consistently for staff and patients.
• Consistently follow patient identification policy: Labeling syringes when loading with date, time, contrast, and initials. Follow all P+P regarding use of ISTAT (Per sites worked)
• Demonstrate knowledge of MR department procedures and protocols by setting acquisition factors for optimal image quality, evaluating images for quality, and accurately following physicians instructions.
• Assesses stock levels and enters stock/pantry orders in computer system.

Required Skills and Experience

• Education: Minimum of Associates degree, Radiologic Sciences program. ARRT Certification in MRI.
• Licensure: ARRT credentials for Diagnostic Imaging and NYS license. Also must receive the enhanced NYS license for injection, on or before completion of introductory period.
• Experience: Preference of two years' experience, but new graduates welcomed.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred
• Good written and oral communication skills preferred.
• Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout hospital for bedside testing.

Location and Travel Requirements

• Onsite at a medical center in Ithaca, NY.
• May be scheduled to support department and patient needs at nearby health centers.
• Shift: Full-time - Days/Evenings FLEX.
• 0%-5% Travel can be expected in this role

Pay Range Disclosure

• Standard Rate of $36.00 to $54.00 per hour, plus benefits
• Shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends according to schedule
