Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI exams with precision and patient-focused care in a fast-paced setting.

You will work closely with radiologists and clinicians to ensure high-quality imaging, safety adherence, and efficient studies, while mentoring students and junior staff in exam protocols.

Qualifications

  • ARRT MR, ARMRIT, or ARRT(R) cross-trained certification.
  • BLS for healthcare providers certification.
  • 1–2 years MRI technologist experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ARRT/ARRT( MR) competency and adheres to MRI safety guidelines.
  • Prepares patients, verifies orders, and identifies patients for exams.
  • Performs exams per protocol and reviews images for quality and accuracy.
  • Operates MRI equipment and related information systems.
  • Instructs students and fellow MRI technologists in protocols and positioning.
  • Provides patient education, comfort, and post-exam care.
  • Keeps records of procedures, outcomes, and any adverse events.
  • Follows coding, consent, QC, and equipment failure reporting procedures.
  • Maintains infection control and a clean imaging environment.
  • Works collaboratively with radiologists and other staff to ensure timely studies.

Job Description:As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic MRI exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
