Job summary

Biograph in San Mateo, CA seeks a skilled MRI Technologist to deliver high-quality MR imaging and patient-centered care. You will interpret orders, prepare contrast, perform scans, and ensure safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT/ARMRIT/NMTCB certification with an associates or bachelor's in Radiologic Technology, plus PACS experience and Siemens MRI proficiency. You will collaborate with radiologists and staff to optimize protocols and image quality.

Qualifications

• ARRT/ARMRIT/NMTCB certification required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
• Proven MRI Technologist experience with MRI imaging principles and protocols.
• Experience with PACS systems.
• Familiarity with Siemens MRI equipment.
• Knowledge of MRI safety and IV administration.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Strong organizational, math, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and health information systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow physician orders accurately, adhering to best practices.
• Explain procedures, medications, or contrast media to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Review patient history and MRI safety assessments for safe imaging.
• Position patients and perform MR scans as per physician specifications.
• Maintain clear communication with patients during procedures to reduce anxiety.
• Insert IV catheters, prepare contrast, and operate power injectors per protocol.
• Evaluate scan images for quality and document labeling.
• Clean, maintain, and operate MRI equipment; collaborate with application specialists.
• Assist in education and training of clinical staff.
• Collaborate with radiologists to develop and troubleshoot protocols and imaging techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for delivering exceptional MR imaging services to patients at our San Mateo clinic, ensuring accurate, high-quality diagnostic images while prioritizing patient care and comfort throughout the process.

What You Will Do

• Interpret and follow physician orders accurately, ensuring clarity and adherence to best practices
• Clearly explain procedures, medications, or contrast media to patients, addressing their purpose, effects, and ensuring patient understanding and comfort
• Review patient history and MR safety assessments to ensure a safe and high-quality imaging experience
• Position patients appropriately and perform MR scans in accordance with physician specifications
• Maintain clear communication with patients during procedures to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety
• Insert IV catheters, prepare contrast, and operate power injectors per protocol
• Evaluate scan images for quality, label and document them according to standards
• Clean, maintain, and operate MRI equipment, collaborating with application specialists as needed
• Assist in the education and training of clinical staff
• Collaborate with radiologists to develop and troubleshoot protocols and imaging techniques
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring To The Role

• Active ARRT, ARMRIT or NMTCB certification
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
• Proven experience as a MRI Technologist, with a strong understanding of MRI imaging principles and protocols
• Experience with PACS systems
• Deep familiarity with MRI equipment (Siemens preferred)
• Experience with Whole Body MRI (not mandatory)
• Knowledge of anatomy, MRI physics and IV administration
• Strong understanding of MRI safety
• Excellent oral communication for addressing patient questions and collaborating with the care team
• Organizational and math skills for managing supplies, contrast administration, and inventory
• Strong problem-solving and observational skills for troubleshooting equipment and ensuring optimal image quality
• Proficiency in operating MRI equipment, Google suite, and health information systems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive patient information
• Exceptional bedside manner and ability to work effectively with diverse individuals
