Job description

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on site and/or remote. You ensure effective communication with Radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially in mobile environments. When required, you train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and potentially overseeing remote MR Technologist Assistants.
• Producing high-quality diagnostic images, with the operation of multiple MR systems as needed.
• Using all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and manage conflicts.
• Communicating effectively with customers and radiologists.
• Training and orienting new staff on site and/or remotely.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Registered Technologist by ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMDS.
• MR registered technologist (R.T. (MR)) ARRT or ARMRIT.
• Certification in other modalities is acceptable.
• CPR Certification.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves.
• The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen is required.
• Local travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• One year of MRI experience.
• Registry in MRI by ARRT.

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to outside weather conditions during patient transport on mobile units.
• Exposure to strong magnetic fields, blood and body fluids, infectious and communicable diseases, noise, and travel.

More than 50% of the time:

• Sitting, standing, walking.
• Repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs.
• Seeing, speaking, and hearing to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time:

• Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
• Climb and balance.
• Lifting and moving non-ambulatory patients.
