Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI scans and radiographs, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires 1 year of MRI experience, JRCERT- or AMA-accredited training, ARRT MR certification, and BLS; MRT certification with TMB is preferred. The center is part of HCA Healthcare and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as an MRI Technologist is required.
• Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI accredited by JRCERT OR AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ARRT(MR) certification is required.
• Current MRT certification with TMB is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions to minimize anxiety.
• Complete required documentation on forms and systems.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform MRI scans and take radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Magnetic Resonance procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patientcare and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

• You will prepare patients for procedures; providing instructions n order to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
• You will complete required documentation on forms, logs, work station and Meditech
• You will administer contrast using proper technique
• You will produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients
• You will label images and identify according to protocol
• You will communicate pertinent information to interpreting radiologist in a timely manner

What qualifications you will need:

• One year of experience as an MRI Technologist - required
• Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) OR graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging(ARRT(MR))
• Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)- preferred

This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients, especially those at high risk for maternal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas' first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites.
