Job summary

Reading Hospital is seeking MR Technologist candidates to join its radiology team. The role involves performing MRI procedures with attention to safety, accuracy, and protocol compliance, under the direction of radiologists. You will care for patients across ages, manage contrast administration, and participate in ongoing education.

The position requires MR certifications, BLS, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate imaging services within a hospital setting on site.

Qualifications

• Post High School Diploma Program required.
• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings required for role.
• BLS Certification required.
• RT (R) OR RT (MR) OR ARMRIT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MR safety and terminology.
• Maintains high accuracy in positioning and technique.
• Performs MRI procedures per established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
• Prepares and administers contrast under radiologist direction per guidelines.
• Ensures quality care in a safe environment for patients from infant to adult.
• Attends continuing education to enhance patient care and knowledge.
• Uses professional judgment and critical thinking in duties.

• Day Shift (Four 10s); Every 3rd weekend rotating shifts

The MR Technologist

• Demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MR safety and medical terminology.
• Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique.
• Performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
• Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for infant through adult patients.
• Remains sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner.
• Engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence while embracing lifelong learning.
• Uses independent, professional and ethical judgment, along with critical thinking in performance of duties.
