Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform comprehensive MRI exams, ensuring patient safety and accurate results. The role requires two years of MRI experience, ARRT MR certification, and GE system familiarity.

You will work closely with Radiologists and clinical staff in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality imaging and patient care. Responsibilities include exam tailoring, urgent response readiness, venipuncture, and QA of point-of-care devices.

Qualifications

• Two years MRI experience with GE systems preferred.
• ARRT MR registration or eligibility required.
• Graduate of an accredited MRI program.

Responsibilities

• Performs all technical and mechanical aspects of MRI, including patient positioning.
• Assess anatomy/pathology and tailor exam scope as needed.
• Review exams with Radiologist and contribute expertise.
• Display knowledge of MRI principles and handle emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
• Proficient in venipuncture and point-of-care testing.
• QA and maintenance on point-of-care equipment.
• Document appropriate clinical history for each MRI exam.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs all technical and mechanical aspects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, including positioning and technical factors, taking into account patient=s age, condition and ability to communicate.




• Assess and recognizes normal/abnormal anatomy/pathology, tailoring scope of exam as indicated.




• Reviews exams with Radiologist as necessary, contributing technical and professional knowledge.




• Displays knowledge of principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging




• Responds appropriately to medical emergencies and displays ability to function effectively and appropriately in stressful situations.




• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, patient’s families, staff, physicians and medical office personnel.




• Proficient in venipuncture.




• Perform Point of Care Testing




• Responsible for QA and maintenance on Point of Care equipment




• Demonstrates knowledge of what constitutes appropriate clinical history for each MRI exam.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required

• Two years MRI experience. MRI registration and GE experience preferred.




• Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.




• Ability to concentrate and prioritize in multi-task setting.

Education Required

• Graduate of accredited MRI program and/ or current R.T. (MRI) (ARRT) registration.

Registration/Certification

• R.T. (MR) (ARRT)




• MRI registration required within one year of hire.




• American Heart Assoc. BLS certification.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 - 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.

Pay Range:

$41.53 - $68.35

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
