Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI and MRA equipment for diagnostic imaging. You will explain procedures to patients, position and immobilize patients, monitor the scanner, and ensure image quality under physician direction.

The role requires a NY license, ARRT preferred, and at least two years of hospital-based MRI experience with a high-field magnet. Candidate will follow safety protocols and assist in training new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency is required.
• Completion of a two-year AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology is required.
• Licensed by the State of New York Department of Health is required.
• ARRT registration is preferred.
• Minimum two years MRI experience in a hospital setting with a high field strength magnet is required.
• Experience with PACS and RIS and MR scanners is required.
• Salary detail note describing base compensation may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a radiologist, performs MRI and MRA procedures.
• Produces high quality images with minimum stress and exposure to the patient by dealing tactfully and cooperatively with patients and general public.
• Provides information and explanation to patient in regard to examination.
• Checks patient identification and screening form to ensure proper administration of MRI & MRA procedures.
• Demonstrates the ability to properly position the patient on the table as required for the exam requested.
• Demonstrates the ability to operate the MRI unit as per protocols.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new technologists.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to follow departmental protocols to produce appropriate studies.
• Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

• Licensed by State of New York Department of Health, required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years MRI experience in a hospital based setting utilizing a high field strength magnet, required.
• Experience with PACS and RIS and computer controlled equipment such as MR scanners, required.
