Job summary

HCHcares in New Castle, IN is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, ensure patient safety, and deliver precise scans for accurate diagnoses.

You will prepare rooms, coordinate with scheduling, and support clinicians while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach. A $10,000 retention bonus is offered after 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Two-year AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or MRI-specific post-training.
  • Registration with ARRT and Indiana State Board of Health certification are required.
  • Three years' experience as a staff or supervisory Registered Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare MRI room and ensure equipment functions properly and supplies are available.
  • Prepare patients, explain the procedure, and gather necessary information.
  • Maintain MRI safety standards and operate the MRI scanner for detailed imaging.
  • Coordinate with Central Scheduling and other departments for add-on examinations.
  • Perform venipuncture/IV initiation for patients of all ages as needed.
  • Consult radiologists and physicians regarding patient conditions or exam appropriateness.

Job description

Overview

Join our leading diagnostic team as an MRI Technologist. In this role, you will operate advanced imaging technology, ensure patient safety, and deliver the precise scans needed for accurate diagnoses. If you are a compassionate professional dedicated to clinical excellence.


*$10,000.00 Retention Bonus offered at the end of 90 days


Responsibilities


  • Prepares MRI room for the application of diagnostic examinations, making sure equipment is functioning properly and adequate supplies are available.

  • Prepares patients for examinations and informs them of the purpose of examination, gathers information from patients as necessary.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently applies all required MRI safety standards.

  • Operates specialized MRI scanner to provide adequate. detailed diagnostic information.

  • Communicates with Central Scheduling and other departments in scheduling add-on examinations, answers voicemail and pages ASAP

  • Demonstrates proper technique and appropriate knowledge in performing venipuncture/IV initiation for patients of all ages.

  • Consults with radiologists, physicians and nursing staff regarding any change in the patient conditions or for clarification/appropriateness of ordered examination.

  • Performs in a calm, efficient, and professional manner in an emergency situation.

  • Takes responsibility for trouble shooting equipment/scanner failures. Contacts service engineers when needed and keeps supervisor/director informed of status.


Qualifications


  • Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of MRI equipment, procedures and cross sectional anatomy, usually obtained during the course of a two year AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology or through MRI specific post-training.

  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and certification by the Indiana State Board of Health is required.

  • Work requires the ability to effectively deal with patients, physicians, and coworkers to carry out all of the functions of the MRI area in an efficient manner. This is normally acquired after three (3) years as a staff or supervisory Registered Technologist.
