Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Radiologic Imaging Technologist for full-time night shifts in the Imaging department. The role involves performing diagnostic scans, educating patients, and ensuring secure data handling through PACS to support the medical team.

The position requires BLS within 30 days and ARRT or equivalent radiologic credentials prior to hire, with opportunities for professional development and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Radiologic Technologist credential (ARRT) prior to hire date.
• Cardiographic Tech credential (CCI) prior to hire date.
• Nuclear Medicine Tech credential (NMTCB) prior to hire date.
• Medical Sonographer credential (ARDMS) prior to hire date.
• MR Imaging Tech credential (ARMRIT) prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-resolution diagnostic scans with proper patient positioning and parameter selection.
• Educate patients through the imaging process to ensure safety and understanding.
• Manage diagnostic data lifecycle from entry to PACS transmission for quick access.
• Maintain a high-standard clinical environment and ensure patient safety.

Education

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Execute high-resolution diagnostic scans by expertly positioning patients and selecting precise technical parameters to capture the cross-sectional images essential for accurate treatment.

• Empower patients through the imaging process by providing clear education and thorough pre-screening, ensuring they feel informed, safe, and prepared for their exam.

• Manage the full lifecycle of diagnostic data—from meticulous entry to PACS transmission—to guarantee the medical team has immediate access to high-quality, life-saving information.

• Maintain a high-performance clinical environment by proactively monitoring equipment health and upholding rigorous safety standards to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
