Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is hiring a Radiology Technologist to perform MRI procedures, position patients for optimal imaging, and administer IV contrast under safety protocols.

The role requires state licensure and ARRT/MRI credentials; you’ll work with a team to maintain QC and ensure patient comfort in a Day shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS CPR certification.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist credentials (R.T.-CERT).
• State licensing from DSPS, KBMIRT, L.R.T. and MRT bodies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked and ready; equipment cleaned and safety checked.
• Educate patients on MRI procedures, contrast use and safety precautions.
• Position patients for high-quality imaging with proper immobilization.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform daily QC checks per department procedures and regulations.

Job Description:

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
