Indiana University Health is seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to ensure a safe and efficient MRI environment. You will screen patients, educate them about the procedure, and administer contrast when required, while maintaining high-quality imaging protocols.
The role emphasizes strict safety practices, collaboration with radiologists, and thorough documentation in EMR. Prior MRI experience is preferred, with certification requirements to be met within 12 months.
Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones. Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.). Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan. Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment. Displays knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusts to ensure diagnostic images. Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
