Indiana University Health seeks an MRI technologist to ensure patient safety and high-quality imaging. You will screen for ferromagnetic objects, educate patients, obtain IV access, and administer contrast when needed.
You will collaborate with radiologists to adjust scanning protocols, perform routine QC on MRI equipment, and document findings in the EMR. Prior MRI experience is preferred; BLS certification is required, with MR certification within 12 months.
Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones. Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.). Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan. Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy. Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment. Displays knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusts to ensure diagnostic images. Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
