Responsibilities

• Perform MRI, MRV, and MRA procedures while following safety protocols.
• Position patients and adjust settings to optimize imaging quality.
• Maintain sterile technique and practice venipuncture as needed.
• Operate MRI equipment and coordinate with radiologists within HIS/RIS/PACS systems.
• Document patient history and protect confidentiality.
• Coordinate exams and communicate scheduling inquiries courteously.
• Disinfect equipment, restock supplies, and report issues.

Job description

Summary

The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician to assist in diagnosing medical conditions across all ages.

Responsibilities Include

• Performing various MRI, MRV, and MRA procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
• Properly positioning patients and selecting technical settings to optimize imaging.
• Handling venipuncture, administering drugs biologics as needed, and maintaining sterile techniques.
• Operating MRI equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, PACS, and coordinating with radiologists.
• Documenting patient history, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating exams within the department.
• Communicating effectively with staff, patients, and families, and managing scheduling and inquiries with courtesy.
• Caring for and disinfecting equipment, maintaining supplies, and reporting equipment issues.

Qualifications

Graduate of a radiologic technology program with current certification or eligibility by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, valid Nebraska Medical Radiographer license, and MRI certification within 36 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is required.
