Job summary

Akumin is hiring a full-time MRI Technologist for our Lansing, MI facility. This mobile role offers travel to UM Health–Sparrow partner sites to support expanding imaging services and patient care.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, acquiring high-quality images, and coordinating supplies and transport. The ideal candidate will have ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS registrations, CPR, and a state license where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS registry to operate MRI equipment.
• State license as required and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images.
• Order supplies, clean unit, and assist with transport prep.
• Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
• Train new technologists as needed.

We are hiring a full-time MRI Technologist for our Lansing, MI facility. This mobile role offers the opportunity to travel and support our expanding UM Health–Sparrow partner sites, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic, on-the-go work environment.

Our MRI technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit, assist in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
• Registered Technologists by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS
• State License, as required.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves
• CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
