Job description

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and performing high-quality MR studies, on site and/or remote. You will ensure effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially in a mobile environment. When required, you will train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques, with remote MR Technologist oversight when necessary.
• Producing high-quality diagnostic images, operating multiple MR systems if required.
• Using all communication channels effectively to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
• Communicating effectively with customers and radiologists.
• Training and orienting new staff, both on-site and remotely.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT as allowable by contract.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification.
• For technologists in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrollment in an accredited MRI training program for over 6 months.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
• Local travel may be necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
• One year of MRI experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to outside weather during patient transport on mobile units.
• Exposure to magnetic fields, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
• More than 50% sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive movements.
• Less than 50% stooping, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and transferring patients.
