Job summary

UVA Imaging in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for our outpatient imaging team. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with varied shifts, no call, and no overnight work, along with a supportive environment focused on quality patient care.

You will perform routine and advanced MRI exams, screen patients, monitor during exams, and collaborate with radiologists to produce high-quality images. Eligible for a quarterly bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Up to 5 years experience as a MRI Technologist.
• Minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
• Registered by ARRT in Radiography or ARMIT; MR advanced registry required on hire for IDTF centers; other centers require MR registry within 12 months.
• Must meet state licensure requirements where practicing.
• Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
• Ability to operate MRI equipment and applicable ancillary gear.
• Ability to work independently and multitask; accurate documentation.
• Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with computer applications, including billing systems, data archiving, and retrieval.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

• Up to 5 years experience as a MRI Technologist

EDUCATION:

• Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
• Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
