$20,000 sign-on bonus. Flexible evening shift options available (weekday or inclusive of a weekend rotation). Mass General Imaging is one of the worldʼs premier medical imaging facilities. Diverse staff provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging to care for Mass General patients from many different communities.
Under general supervision, the MRI technologist will safely perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using an MRI system. Responsibilities include preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring images, performing computer processing, displaying images, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, performing quality assurance scans, and coordinating with radiologists, nurses, child life specialists, and other content experts.
Staff must rotate to MRI scanners across the assigned department as needed and be available for occasional overnight shifts and holidays (except per-diem technologists). Confirm patient name, date of birth, medical record number, and MRI exam ordered per JC guidelines. Perform IV catheter placement and administer MR contrast agents, monitoring for adverse reactions, and recording all information in EMR. Operators perform point-of-care testing where applicable, instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures, function as the final checkpoint for safety and protocol clarification, identify hazardous system malfunctions, secure the area, and remove patients during emergencies. Conduct scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanner and related equipment, record QA results, report potential equipment problems, and assist with scheduling, patient transport, inventory, and filing as needed.
Onsite work at 55 Fruit Street, pay range $48.00–$57.41 per hour, Grade 5. Base pay considers skills, experience, education, certifications, and other factors. Additional benefits, career advancement opportunities, differentials, premiums, and bonuses apply.
