Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program with MRI training.
• Current state radiology tech (RT) credential; MR credential preferred.
• PA residency/certification within 1 year if not already held.
• Licensed or eligible for PA MRI-related credentials within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment, computer, and image management systems.
• Prepare/position patients and select parameters to obtain cross‑sectional images.
• Submit high-quality images to PACS and assist with patient screening and education.
• Maintain department cleanliness and assist with contrast injections under supervision.

Collaborates with the radiologist and fellow staff members regarding patient testing. Complies with MRI safe practices at all times. **Job Duties*** Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.* Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.* Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.* Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality and patient data/history).* Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.* Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in department.* Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.* Additional duties based upon the needs of the department. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED and* Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiology program* Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel.* Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel that are involved in MRI exams.* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email.* Skills in technical data interpretation.* American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire* RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or* MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year or* ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year **Preferred Qualifications*** Knowledge of Insurance Benefit and Eligibility Websites.* Knowledge of Medical Insurance Terminology. **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
