Job summary

TALENT Software Services in Morristown, NJ, is seeking an MRI Technician to join a state-of-the-art facility and contribute to high-quality patient care. You will position patients, operate MRI equipment, and document scan parameters while ensuring safety and comfort throughout exams.

The role requires 1–3 years’ MRI experience, strong communication, and independence in a fast-paced clinical environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience as MRI Technician.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Position patient on examining table and place specified MRI coil close to area of interest per Radiologist instructions.
• Demonstrate use of microphone for patient-technologist communication during examination.
• Enter patient history, scanned area, orientation, and entry position into the MRI computer.
• Key commands to set scan sequences and adjust transmitters/receivers.
• Observe patient in control room and on CCTV to monitor safety and comfort.
• View MRI images on display to ensure image quality.
• Enter data on camera keyboard to capture images.
• Warn staff about magnet safety and metal risks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Position patient on examining table and place specified coil (receiver) such as head coil or knee coil close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrate use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
• Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of MRI equipment into computer.
• Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
• Observe patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV to monitor safety and comfort.
• View images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
• Key in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
• Alert staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills

• 1-3 years’ experience as MRI Technician.
