**MRI Tech**

**Position Highlights**

  1. Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
  2. Work environment: Radiology MRI
  3. Work hours: PRN Variable Shifts

We offer surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and are a certified Heat attack center.

**Education**

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required, or
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency

**Experience**

  • 1 year medical imaging experience required
  • 1 year MRI experience preferred

**Licenses and Certifications**

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists MR, or
  • ARMRIT - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, or
  • ARRT - R, CT, N certifications required upon hire, as applicable
  • NMTCB - CNMT, required upon hire
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist, if ARRT(R), (CT), (N), or CNMT, required upon hire
  • Additional ARRT and ARMRIT certifications may be required depending on the specific role and experience

**Position Responsibilities**

A successful MRI Tech will be responsible for:

Imaging Procedures, Quality, and Processing
  • Explaining procedures to patients or guardians prior to exams
  • Positioning patients accurately
  • Performing complex procedures considering age and developmental factors
  • Adjusting technique parameters appropriately
  • Assisting radiologists with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic techniques
Patient Care
  • Using multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
  • Assessing and recognizing patients' emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions
  • Preparing rooms and checking physician orders and exam requisitions
  • Greeting and identifying patients properly
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
  • Adjusting technical factors
  • Operating and maintaining equipment
  • Applying physics knowledge and accessories
  • Troubleshooting and documenting malfunctions
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
Professional Accountability and Partnership
  • Maintaining and enhancing technical skills
  • Participating in continuing education and departmental meetings
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives
  • Managing time effectively and re-prioritizing as needed
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors
