Job description

BNV-East Lake BOS/Surgery

· Prepares patients for procedures by providing instructions and education to ensure desired results, cooperation, and to minimize anxiety.

· Selects and operates magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve optimal results.

· Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest.

· Acquires IV access on patients requiring contrast studies, following universal precautions and phlebotomy standards.

· Assists radiologists with minimally invasive procedures such as arthrograms under ultrasound guidance.

· Prepares the MRI Center for ACR accreditation.

· Maintains a pleasant demeanor and a neat, professional appearance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in on-the-job training of new employees.
  • Ensuring charges are submitted accurately and consistently.
  • Scheduling patients efficiently to maximize equipment utilization.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and other guidelines.
  • Attending annual CPR, OSHA, and other relevant training programs.
  • Maintaining ongoing education for professional licensure.
  • Participating in staff meetings.
  • Performing other assigned tasks.

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited school in radiologic technology.
  • Completion of a CAHEA-accredited program in medical imaging or equivalent.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Additional Position Requirements:

  • Experience in medical imaging demonstrating competency in MRI procedures.
  • Additional education in sectional human anatomy.
  • Ability to work comfortably with diverse individuals.
  • Perform MRI procedures following a licensed practitioner's order.
  • Corroborate patient’s clinical history with the procedure documentation.
  • Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Full range of body motion required, including handling, lifting, standing, walking, and sitting for periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal visual and hearing acuity required.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other clinic environment hazards.
