Job Summary

The MRI technologist will work with the radiologist and staff to prepare patients and operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic scans. The technologist performs exams according to departmental protocol, positioning patients and adjusting equipment to produce quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Explaining procedures to patients
• Prioritizing workflow based on patient condition
• Maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Following safety regulations and universal precautions
• Operating and maintaining MRI equipment
• Assessing image quality and repeating scans if necessary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited MRI program
• 2 years healthcare experience preferred
• ARMRIT or ARRT registration in MRI or eligibility, with registry completion within 12 months of hire
• Proficiency in communication, ability to work under stress, and MRI safety knowledge

Physical Demands

Medium to heavy physical activity, including standing, reaching, lifting up to 100 lbs., and exposure to radiation. Use of safety equipment required as needed.
