Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Multi-Modal MRI Technologist (PRN) to perform diagnostic procedures across multiple modalities with limited supervision. This role requires ARRT/CRT credentials, BLS, and prior radiology or ultrasound experience.

The technologist will collaborate with Radiology staff, maintain quality standards, and ensure patient safety while delivering high-quality imaging services.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Diploma / Certification from certified school of Primary Imaging Modality required.
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a Radiology Technologist or Ultrasound Technologist required.
  • Six (6) months of experience in two or more modalities required.
  • Current Florida Radiology Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy licensure if required by state.
  • ARRT license required or must be obtained within 12 months of start date and maintained thereafter.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic procedures in more than one modality or two specialties within the same modality with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Exhibits leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interacts professionally with clinical staff and the public.
  • Maintains computer proficiency and basic management applications.

Job Overview

The Multi-Modal Technologist reports to the designated leader(s) within the Radiology/Imaging Department. This position performs diagnostic procedures with skill and without requiring constant supervision in more than one (1) modality, OR, two (2) specialties within the same modality. This position will require independent judgment and initiative of a technical level. Experience in Breast Ultrasound preferred.

General Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers and basic management applications.
  • Treats everyone as a guest by making a good first impression, anticipating needs and displaying service recovery skills
  • Demonstrates professionalism and excellence by looking professional, being accountable for actions and delivering excellence in our everyday work.
  • Practices teamwork by participating in decision making and process improvement, communicating effectively and focusing on the problem/issue, not the person.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or equivilent required.
  • Diploma / Certification from certified school of Primary Imaging Modality required.
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a Radiology Technologist or Ultra Sound Technologist required, acute care experience preferred.
  • Six (6) months of experience in two (2) or more modalities (i.e. CT, MR, IR, NM, US, or Cath Lab) required, acute care experience preferred.
  • Current Florida Radiology Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy licensure if required by state.
  • Current American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) license required Or - must be obtained within 12 months of start date and maintained current thereafter.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
