Precision Imaging Centers is seeking a Full-Time MRI Technologist for our Northside location in Jacksonville, FL. The role supports an outpatient imaging environment with Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM shifts.

You will perform MRI procedures, ensure patient safety, and participate in a program offering bonuses and growth opportunities, including ROCC remote scanning in the future.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Florida Radiologic Technologist License.
• ARRT Certification in Radiography (R).
• ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR).
• BLS Certification.
• Venipuncture experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety in the MR environment and apply anatomy, physiology, and MRI principles.
• Set technical parameters and operate MRI scanners and related equipment.
• Monitor image quality and evaluate images for diagnostic accuracy.
• Administer contrast media as required.
• Explain procedures to reduce patient anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Position patients and select coils based on protocol.
• Stay current with MRI technology and participate in continuing education.

Position Overview

The MRI Technologist plays a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging. This position requires strong communication, patient care, and collaboration skills to ensure a positive experience for every patient.

MRI Technologists are responsible for maintaining safety in the MR environment and applying their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI principles to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Successful candidates are patient advocates with strong technical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors within the MRI environment


• Conduct MRI safety screenings verbally and through MRI screening forms


• Explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation


• Prepare imaging areas and select appropriate coils based on protocol and patient needs


• Position patients properly and utilize immobilization devices for optimal imaging


• Set technical parameters and operate MRI scanners and related equipment


• Monitor image quality during scans and evaluate images for diagnostic accuracy


• Administer contrast media as required

Additional Job Functions

• Stay current with MRI technology, procedures, and best practices


• Participate in continuing education to meet state and national requirements


• Collaborate with the Lead Technologist to support efficient patient flow


• Assist with training and oversight of MRI students as needed


• Maintain appropriate inventory of MRI supplies


• Perform daily visual inspections and weekly ACR QA procedures, reporting issues promptly

Education & Certifications Required

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program


• Florida Radiologic Technologist License


• ARRT Certification in Radiography (R)


• ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR)


• BLS Certification

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience preferred
